پزشکتان ممکن است داروهایی مانند نیتروگلیسرین را برای شل کردن سرخرگ‌های کرونری ، مهارکننده‌های کانال کلسیم را برای محافظت در برابر اسپاسم‌های سرخرگ کرونری یا آسپیرین و سایر داروهای ضدپلاکتی را برای پیشگیری از تشکیل لخته‌های خونی در محل انسداد تجویز نماید. اگر در بدن‌تان استنت وجود دارد، باید از رقیق‌کننده‌خون مانند آسپیرین استفاده کنید. همچنین باید یک داروی ضدپلاکتی مانند کلوپیدوگرل را حداقل تا یک ماه بعد از جاگذاری استنت لخت فلزی در سرخرگ کرونری و دو سال یا بیشتر پس از جاگذاری استنت دارویی در سرخرگ کرونری مصرف کنید. به علت وجود استنت فلزی، نباید حداقل تا ۴ هفته پس از استنت‌گذاری بدون ارزیابی ابتدایی پزشکتان، MRI انجام دهید. اما می‌توانید از میان دستگاه فلزیاب فرودگاه رد بشوید، بدون اینکه مشکلی برایتان بوجود بیاید.
