استاتین ها
داروی عمده ای که این روزها برای پایین آوردن سطح کلسترول خون تجویز می شود از استاتین هاست. استاتین ها داروهای پایین آوردنده کلسترول خونند که در اواسط دهه ۱۹۹۰ به بازار آمده اند. می توانند سطح کلسترول خون را تام میزان ۲۰درصد پایین آورند. به طور کلی استاتین ها می توانند خطر مرگ بوسیله کلسترول را تا ۲۵ درصد کاهش دهند. درمان با استاتین در افرادی که در دهه هفتم از عمر خود هستند، همانطور مؤثر است که افراد در میانسالی خود باشند. این دارو لازم است حداقل برای ۵ سال مصرف شود.
سایر داروهای پایین آورنده کلسترول
دو نوع داوری دیگر وجود دارد که هرگاه استاتین برای شما مناسب نبود از آنها ممکن است استفاده کنند. یکی از آنها فیبرات ها و دیگری داروهایی است که اسیدهای صفراوی را مقید و محصور می کند.
فیبرات ها
فیبرات ها به صورت قرص یا کپسول در اختیار مصرف کنندگان قرار می گیرد. فیبرات شامل «بزا فیبرات» ها از قبیل (بزالیپ، بزالیپ مونو) سیپروفیبرات (موادلیم)، فنوفیبرات (لیپانتیل) و جم فیبروزیل (لوپید) می گردد. فیبرات ها را برای افرادی تجویز می کنند که سطح کلسترول خون و تری گلیسرود آنان هر دو بالاست. اگر شما از استاتین استفاده می کنید از این داروها به شما داده نمی شود. مگر آنکه تحت مراقبت شدید اینکار انجام شود. اگر شما از داروهای ضد انعقاد خون استفاده می کنید، پزشک شما در کمال احتیاط از آن داروها برای شما تجویز می کند.
