همچنین شما می‌توانید یک کارت مخصوص حاوی اطلاعات مربوط به اندوکاردیت عفونی (عفونت قلب) را با خود به همراه داشته باشید. این اقدامات نمی‌توانند از تمام موارد اندوکاردیت (عفونت قلب) پیشگیری نمایند چرا که نمی‌توانیم پیش‌بینی نماییم که میکروب‌ها چگونه و چه زمانی وارد جریان خون می‌شوند و نیز نمی‌توانیم همه افراد در معرض خطر را قبل از انجام اقدامات تهاجمی شناسایی نماییم. همچنین نمی‌توان همه میکروب‌های اختصاصی را شناسایی نمود. پزشکان از این مورد نگرانند که مصرف بیش از حد آنتی‌بیوتیک موجب مقاومت دارویی شود. تحقیقات برای مشخص کردن موثرترین راه‌های پیشگیری از اندوکاردیت عفونی (عفونت قلب) همچنان درحال انجام هستند.
