سی تی اسکن قلب روشی است که با استفاده ازدستگاه سی تی اسکن مولتی اسلایس انجام می شود. سی تی اسکن مولتی اسلایس رایج که امروزه بیشترین کاربرد را در تهیه تصاویر عروق کرونری دارد ، سی تی اسکن ۶۴-اسلایس شرکت زیمنس می باشد.
این اسکنر دارای لامپ اشعه ایکس مخصوصی است که با سرعت بالا می چرخد. و توانایی چرخش سه دور در هر ثانیه را دارد . در هر چرخش ، ۶۴ برش برمیدارد. و در هر ثانیه ۱۹۴ برشایجاد می کند. . ار آنجایی که قلب ساختار حرکتی سریع دارد؛ تنها روش تصویربرداری آن اسکن کردن خیلی سریعتر از ضربان قلب می باشد. تمامی اسکن ها با استفاده از Gating ECG انجام می شود. و اجازه می دهد تا جمع آوری داده ها در فازهای ویژه جمع آوری شود.در این روش دیگر نیازی به بستری شدن در بیمارستان درمقایسه با آنژیوگرافی با کاتتر نمی باشد.
